STRONG SCHOOLS STRONG CITY PASSED!!!
As residents of Minneapolis, we have always been strong, proud supporters of public education. We know that a strong school system is vital to the health of our city. On November 4, we will have the opportunity to invest in our students by voting YES for the Strong Schools Strong City referendum. The Strong Schools Strong City referendum will provide $60 million a year to the Minneapolis Public Schools for eight years. The referendum will fund essential education basics: early age reading, math and science, and up-to-date textbooks and technology. Half of the referendum dollars will go to continue the district's commitment to managing class size.
Help us on November 3 and 4! We need volunteers holding Strong Schools Strong City signs at busy intersections around Minneapolis. Shifts run from 7am-9am, 11am-1pm, and 4pm-6pm. You can come grab a sign and find out which intersection we need you at most by coming to our two action centers --
Strong Schools Strong City Campaign HQ. 2937 Dupont Avenue. South.
Minneapolis Federation of Teachers HQ. 67 Eighth Avenue, Northeast.
Or, you can check out all of our intersections by clicking on the "events" tab on the left and take your own sign out. Call the office with questions -- we'll be open from sunrise to way past sunset. 612-824-7712.
The Minneapolis Public Schools also has a website about the referendum. Please visit http://www.mpls.k12.mn.us/Referendum.html.
